4TH BIFFE – 1500 CAN WATCH IN ONE CRORE BENGALURU!

It is a great start ahead for 4th Bengalugu International Film Festival as the government of Karnataka has released Rs.2.5 crores fund for joint event of Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy, Government of Karnataka Information department.

The fact is that the festival committee is expecting 3500 guests but only 1500 can watch in nine screens one show in a cosmopolitan city of Bengaluru that has nearly one crore of population. This is what possible at present. Let the nine screens becomes houseful first says TS Nagabharana, chairman of Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy.

At Fame Lido complex, Centrla Inox, JP Nagar, Rejoyz at Malleswaram, Department of information on Fantry Road, Badami House at NR Square and Suchitra in BSK II stage.

To give further details on the 4th Bengaluru International film festival that is slated for 15th December to 22nd December 175 features across nine screens in the city with four categories of awards in the competition section have been planned. The event will feature 130 foreign films from 40 countries, 30 from Indian cinema and 15 from Kannada cinema.

This year’s country focus will be on Polish cinema, Egyptian cinema, Asian Cinema, Chitrabharati and Kannada cinema. Retrospectives will comprise films of Michael Cacoyannis and Theo Angelopoulos of Greece, Hasio-hasien Hou of Taiwan, Daiush Mehrjui of Iran, G Aravindran from Malayalam cinema and Puttanna Kanagal from Kannada. The festival also includes special sections of political cinema, films of FIPRESCI award winner, NETPAC award winner, Nostalgia.
